Comprehensive Answers

I’ve compiled a list of the most frequent questions that I have received over my career. It’s normal and encouraged for patients to ask many questions when choosing to work with a licensed Psychotherapist. Below are some answers to the questions I receive the most. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.

How It Works:

I offer a complementary twenty-minute phone consultation. At this time, you’ll explain the challenges you’re experiencing and your hopes for engaging in therapy. If both of us feel we “click,” I’ll direct you to my Calendly page where you can book a session. The first session will be via Zoom and subsequent sessions may be in person if that suits your needs. You may pay the session fee online prior to your appointment. I request a 24-hour cancellation notice. Thank you.

What Kind of Therapy Do You Practice?

My approach to therapy is eclectic. I utilize a combination of IFS (Internal Family Systems,) Somatic Experiencing, Hypnosis and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.) All these therapeutic modalities are evidence-based. While I may educate you about your “thinking mistakes,” I do not utilize a strictly CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) approach, as I believe we are much more than our thoughts. My approach tends to get to the root of the underlying issues very rapidly. I feel that providing an individual with therapy is a privilege and a great responsibility, which I take seriously.

Do You Take Insurance?

At this point, I do not participate in any insurance plans. If your insurance company offers out-of-network reimbursement, I am happy to provide you with a monthly invoice. Please by aware that you may be able to deduct the cost of therapy on your taxes. Please check with your accountant to be sure. I accept payment via my Calendly page, or in cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.
